What Is Water Baptism?
Water baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and an outward sign of an inward work of grace. According to Scripture and the teaching of the Church of the Nazarene, baptism is a sacrament—a visible sign of God’s saving grace and our identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
We believe:
- Baptism does not bring salvation
- Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ
- Baptism is an act of obedience, gratitude, and testimony
Through baptism, we joyfully proclaim that we belong to Christ and commit ourselves to live as His disciples in the power of the Holy Spirit!
